CCL to provide conveyors for Skegness Butlins waterslide attraction
January 14, 2013
Central Conveyors are pleased to announce that we have won the tender to supply and install a conveyor hoist system for a leisure application at Skegness Butlins, via main contractor Simons Construction.
Skegness Butlins are adding a new Splash Waterworld attraction to their already impressive swimming pool facilities. Comprising a series of water slides that guests experience sitting on rubber ring rafts, this exciting new development is assured of attracting many holiday makers and follows in the tradition of exciting family leisure facilities that Butlins is known for.
Central Conveyors will be supplying the system to take the rafts back to the top of the slide system. We will be providing one conveyor that the returning rafts are stacked on to – four units at a time – which will then be moved on to a second conveyor positioned in a lift shaft and transported up via an electric hoist. The rafts will then be moved on to a third conveyor which makes them available for the sequence to begin again.
With our conveyors typically employed in out-of-sight factory or warehouse environments, this project is a rare opportunity for our products to be seen in a public space, and we are proud to have produced conveyors with a different end use to the usual conveying applications. We will keep you up to date on the progress of the project but we anticipate an end of January timeframe for completion.
