Pulped paper (banknotes) are fed into the waste conveyor via a screw conveyor. The conveyor presented two challanges. One was the design of the input hopper, ensuring a smooth transfer from the screw conveyor, regardless of what position the waste conveyor is rotated into.
In addition, the pulp comes in varying consistencies, depending on the particular batch being worked on. The consistency could vary from a firm slurry to a hard cake, and this required carefull selection of the belt type and geometry to ensure that all consistencies would be carried up to the skip lorry sucessfully.
